Twill fabrics
Twill - because skew can be quite trendy
Twill bindings are a tough choice: they look chic and are also robust. They are among the most important basic weave types for woven fabrics. You can recognize them quite easily by the sloping burr and the wonderfully smooth surface. Compared to the plain weave, the twill weave is looser and can trap more air. This allows your favourite twill piece to warm you better than other fabrics.
By the way, the name goes back to a Low German term for rafters or cross beams - a donkey bridge that helps you to recognize a Twill as such.

A Twill for any occasion!
The Lebenskleidung Twill naturally comes with the GOTS seal. It is made from Ugandan organic cotton, which is processed in Europe. No matter if you want to use the organic Twill fabric for trousers or jackets - with it you make yourself and the environment happy!
- In our portfolio you will find many different types of Twill. Besides the classic Twill in exciting, intense colours like berry or platinum, we also offer you cross Twill with alternating burr direction, which is particularly high-quality and has a fine shine.
- A fabric for special occasions is our Wave Twill, which - as the name suggests - has wave-shaped body ridges and is quite an eye-catcher.
- Although twill fabric is less tightly bound than e.g. canvas weave, it is still rather firm. This makes it a wonderful choice for trousers or jackets - anything that needs a certain firmness, but at the same time should look high-quality.
- Probably the most famous Twill is denim. However, in the meantime it has become so famous that it no longer adorns itself with foreign feathers, but stands up for itself confidently. And yet you will easily be able to unmask every one of your favourite jeans if you take a closer look at the burr pattern.
